The Apostolic Fathers

l.  Clement of Rome

3.  Ignatius of Antioch

4.  Barnabus of Alexandria

5. Polycarp

Polycarp, pictured above, is remembered in Church History for his famous dying words:  "Eighty and six years have I served Him, He hath done me no wrong"  In other words, I CANNOT DENY HIM!!!

The Apostolic Church endured until approximately AD 100.

History proclaims:  there were 50,000 believers in Jerusalem & 50,000 believers in Antioch

The important fact to remember about the Apostolic Fathers is that their lives overlapped the lives of the Apostles.  For example, history tells us that Polycarp knew  the Disciple John the Beloved.  Therefore their teachings and doctrines echoed more accurately those preached by the Apostles.
